Title: West Regional Sales Manager – Remote/Field Sales

Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for successfully executing a direct or end-user pull through sales model, which includes calling on and developing relationships with relevant end-users, creating end-user interest in buying Interspiro’s various products, and pulling the business through the end-user’s preferred distribution partner within the assigned territory.

We are seeking confident, competitive, professional, accountable, business development candidates for this role that are looking to join one of the oldest and most innovative manufacturers of breathing apparatus and respiratory protection products in the world. An ideal candidate will be a Hunter/Business Developer with a proven ability to effectively develop new business opportunities at the end-user level and provide effective support after the sale.

The candidate who is chosen must live in the territory and have a proven track record of success calling on fire departments, first responders and/or industrial end-users and distribution customers within the defined region. They must be a self-starter, have a competitive and entrepreneurial personality, passion for the job and for worker safety, as well as the desire to learn and become successful in a growth-oriented company that offers uncapped earning potential. The RSM should be comfortable speaking and giving presentations to groups and be confident enough to ask for the sale, and close deals.

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement effective plans for developing and acquiring new business opportunities.
• Travel extensively throughout the territory to conduct regular end-user sales calls individually, or jointly, with distributor representatives. 
• Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new distribution partnerships by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets. 
• Train relevant distribution partner personnel to ensure proper education on the Interspiro product line.
• Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc. 
• Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
• Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; and making recommendations to management.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies and networking groups. 
• Effectively utilize computer software/technology to maintain thorough records of all sales calls and results.
• Maintain positive attitude and open line of communication with co-workers and customers.

• Analyze sales reports of customer data to identify sales opportunities within your assigned territory.

• Ensure proper support/service and promote deeper account penetration within the customer base.

Desired Personal and Professional Experience:

• 4+ years of sales experience with manufacturers that market through distribution, preferably in First Responder market segment.
• Experience selling breathing apparatus (SCBA / SCUBA) and/or respiratory protection products is a plus but not required – extensive training and technical certifications will be provided.

• Comfort working independently with minimal supervision in multi-state territory.
• Organized and self-motivated.
• Keen sense of urgency, follow-up and follow-through – must be intuitive and able to gauge/relate to all audiences and selling situations.
• Strong character, professional integrity and the resilience to work effectively under pressure with the ability to achieve and maintain the respect of top management, peers and customers.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, iPad, and social media.

COMPENSATION

• Estimated Base Salary Range: $55,000 – $75,000 (+ / – depending on experience)
• Commissions: 1% up to 80% of Net Sales Budget; 2% above 80% of Net Sales Budget – Uncapped
• Personal Performance Target (PPT)

  • Stay within or below Fiscal Expense Budget
